The image above, taken on the walk to Sunshine’s Beach Bar in Nevis, will be featured in the Seventh Annual Members’ Show of the Coalition of Photographic Arts (CoPA). The show opens on Gallery Night, Friday, April 20, 2012, and runs through May 12, 2012, at 262 East Menomonee Street, in Milwaukee’s Third Ward, just across the street from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design.  So if you happen to be in Wisconsin, stop by!

The My Irie Time shop is now open!  You can order prints, canvases, metal prints, cards, and other goodies with your favorite images from the Caribbean.  I ordered a 24″ x 40″ canvas of the image above for over the whirlpool tub in our master bath, and it’s stunning!  New images will be added from time to time, so check back often.  If you don’t see an image you want in the store, let us know, and we will make it available.  Also, if you would like custom cards, just let us know what you would like.  To check out the store, click the link on the header or click here…

On Thursday nights at Anacaona Boutique Hotel, Meads Bay, Anguilla, you can enjoy an Anguillan buffet along with a performance of the Mayoumba Folkloric Theatre, a show of stories and songs portraying the history of the island.  In this scene, the topic is the influence of rum!  Anacaona recently announced the addition of a new show, “The Night of Dance,” featuring the Klassique Dance Academy, on Monday nights.  For more information, check out Anacaona Boutique Hotel.

tc conch festival 1 Turks & Caicos Conch Festival This shot is from our first trip to Providenciales, and our first visit to the Turks & Caicos Conch Festival. We had so much fun, we returned in 2008.  My favorite memory of the 2006 festival was watching the boat races with men who knew all the boats and had a real interest in who won.  I loved their enthusiasm and commentary throughout the race.

The festival now spans two days, this year being held November 25-26, 2011. Read more about the festival here…
