Coming back to The CuisinArt was like coming home again.  We stayed here on our very first trip to Anguilla in 2007.  I still remember the doorman calling to us as we ventured out for our first bit of driving on the island, “Left is right, right is wrong!” It’s a family-friendly resort that’s not too stuffy and not at all chaotic.  It just fits.

The resort is just as beautiful and the staff just as welcoming as I remembered.  The grounds are well-maintained, filled with lush plantings.

The kids loved the floating island.

These little coolers are new since our last stay, loaded with water bottles on ice.

Check out the sailboats, kayaks, or other water sports if you like.

On this visit, we had two junior suites located in the Rhodes building, the second building from the north along the beach.

The suites have been redecorated but remain as spacious.  We did get two suites this visit, as our kids, now ages 15 and 17, have outgrown sharing a room with us.  As soon as you enter the room you are drawn out to terrace for the spectacular views of Rendezvous Bay and St. Martin in the distance.

Included in our stay was a continental breakfast, offering loads of pastries and fruit from which to choose. A variety of juices were available, which changed daily.  Also included was a meat and cheese plate, and the brie went really well with the croissants and french bread provided.  Our picky eater skipped the meat and cheese, but ate about eight croissants every morning!

There have been some changes since that first visit.  The resort acquired the Temenos golf course designed by Greg Norman.  I’m not a golfer, so that did not play into my decision to choose the CuisinArt. They also changed the entrance.  Quite frankly, I still like the old entrance.  I know it’s not as grand, but it seems to be a lot easier to take that road than to go through the golf course, with all its speed bumps and crossings for golf carts.  So the changes really did not matter to me, but if you’re a golfer, this may make it the perfect choice for you over other resorts on the island.

For us, we were sold by the casual atmosphere, friendly service, and the spectacular beach.  Thanks to the staff for a great visit and we hope to see you again soon!

Photos from our stay in 2007, along with shots of the hydroponic gardens, can be found here.
