We have stayed at a lot of beautiful resorts with lots of amenities, and haven’t really taken advantage of the activities offered by the resorts. Give me a beautiful beach and clear blue water and I’m set, but this trip, we decided to check out some of the items in the Cap Juluca Activities Brochure. The first up – a rum tasting with Walter, who we would see again at the Cocktail Master Class – more on that to come.
The rum tasting starts with the least complex of the rums, but you have to start somewhere. We started with Anguillita, and worked our way up to 21 year Zafra, which was a wonderful rum to savor. The progression was Anguillita, 21 year El Dorado, Diplomatico, Zacapa, and then the 21 year Zafra, which was my favorite of the group.
Walter was a welcoming host, who explained the characteristics of each of the selections, and it was nice to meet others staying at the resort. If you’re staying there, why not join in?
