I am pleased to report that I have been recognized with an Honorable Mention Award in the category of Cultural Photography in the North American Travel Journalism Association’s 34th Annual Awards Competition. The image recognized was “Market Craftsman,” an image taken in St. George’s Market on Grenada. I was honored once again to be recognized by the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) in its 30th Annual Awards for Excellence in Travel Journalism. I received an Honorable Mention in the category of Photography – Photo Essay for “Photo Tour of Key West,” on Film Road Trip. Work eligible for the competition was work first published between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021. Today the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) announced the winners of its 28th Annual Awards Competition, and I am thrilled to share with you that I was awarded Gold in the category of Photography: Featured Photo, Illustration for this image from my article, “The Heart of Anguilla.” Anguilla holds a special place in my heart and this image, and the article in which it was featured, showcase Anguilla’s tremendous comeback following the devastation of Hurricane Irma. Sometimes you have to jump right in, even when you may not think you are experienced enough or talented enough.
