Cap Juluca, Anguilla, Keeps Getting Better

In November of 2025, we returned for another stay at Cap Juluca, Anguilla for a week of soaking up the sun on Anguilla’s best beach, Maunday’s Bay. We were last at Cap Juluca in 2019, when the resort was fresh off its $100M+ post-Irma renovation. I really wasn’t expecting it to be any better than that, but I have to say, the Belmond group again surprised me. This will be the first of several posts covering our stay, as we participated in several activities, including a rum tasting, a wine tasting, and a cocktail class, all worthy of separate attention, but, with our welcome cocktail in hand, let’s take a fresh look at the facility and operations.

This year, we booked a Deluxe Beachfront King Room. We were in Villa 8 on the second floor in the middle of the beautiful curve of the bay. Last time, we stayed in a first floor room, and when we return, I will ask to be on the first floor. Although the view from the second floor is lovely, I preferred being able to walk straight out my patio door to the beach, rather than walking out back and around the building to get to the beach. To each his own, but I like immediate beach access! The rooms were beautifully-appointed, with comfortable beds, seating, and linens throughout.

Walking out to the patio, you are immediately drawn to the view. Comfortable loungers along with a table and chairs are available.

The beach service has been updated. Gone are the push buttons on the umbrella poles to ring for service. Instead, there is a small wooden box with a QR code to pull up your menu options and the service button. New are YETI coolers loaded with water.

The iced teas and treats are lovely too!

And the gentleman who offers to clean your sunglasses is a nice touch!

I should mention the complimentary beach bag. It was so nice, I wore it as a purse when going out to dinner, and I was not alone.

Your villa’s chairs are now marked with a small sign throughout your stay so there is no mistaking your reserved spot on the beach. For me, I love having my spot reserved and not having to move from day to day or negotiate for space. The beach chairs are spaced so you don’t feel like you are eavesdropping on your neighbor’s conversations. I was recently looking at a 5-Diamond resort on another island which had all the beach chairs so close together, that I could not even think of booking there. And I’m too old to fight people for beach chairs (especially those people who deposit their items on the chairs in the early morning, not planning to use them for hours). I am paying for the luxury of having my spot on the beach and I appreciate how it’s done at Cap Juluca.

I love that they kept the evening manager’s cocktail hour with the champagne sabering. It has now been upgraded (in my opinion) to Veuve Clicquot, and they retrieve your cork and present it to you in a tiny Cap Juluca shopping bag. Nice touch!

The concierge is courteous and responsive to requests. We knew we wanted to do a rum tasting and the concierge arranged that in advance. Once on site, we were provided a dedicated host, who checked in with us by text during our stay. We decided to join the wine tasting and the cocktail class, and the host made the arrangements while we went on with our day.

Breakfast was always a pleasure, and was included in our room rate. I tried the Island Shakshuka, and loved it, ordering it multiple mornings, but every dish I tried was delicious.

I have to mention the turndown treats. They have upped their game here as well, with macarons, cookies, and other delights from the pastry chef, tucked in a small wicker basket.

I will save the rum tasting, the wine tasting, the cocktail class and the amazing restaurant, Uchu, for a few more posts, but I have to say that Cap Juluca is better than ever before!

After we finish up our Cap Juluca posts, we’ll explore our favorite island restaurants which we visited this trip. Stay tuned!
