The most difficult part of planning a trip to Anguilla is deciding where to eat. There are so many great restaurants, that you’ll have to create a short list. 2019 was our fifth trip to the island, so we’ve been to many places on previous trips. This trip, we returned to some favorites, and tried a few new places. Take a look at our restaurant choices for our week on Anguilla.

I have to point out that we stayed at Belmond Cap Juluca, so our breakfast every morning was at Cip’s. There were a few mornings we had a late breakfast or a big breakfast, and didn’t have an appetite for lunch, so if you eat a light breakfast early, you may have more room in your schedule for great lunches!

Monday – Travel Day – Dinner at Sharky’s

Our flight arrived in Sint Maarten at approximately 2:15 p.m., so sadly, breakfast and lunch were airport or airplane food. I was excited for our Monday night dinner reservation which I had made before arriving –Sharky’s. Sharky’s is owned by Lowell Hodge, who after 21 years at Blanchards, opened his own place in 2018. I had heard about the delicious lobster cakes, so we ordered them as an appetizer. My husband had the snapper in mango ginger sauce and our daughter had the shrimp pasta. I opted for the whole lobster, and it was delightful! Put Sharky’s on your list!

Tuesday – Big Breakfast at Cip’s and Dinner at Picante

Tuesday was one of those days we slept in a bit, and had a big breakfast, so we spent lunch lounging on our beach. Tuesday dinner was one of our favorites which we make sure to visit at least once every trip, Picante. I love the fish tacos, and my daughter has climbed aboard the fish taco bandwagon. Have them Picante style, with a hard taco surrounded by a soft taco. In between the two layers, you’ll find guacamole, refried beans, and sour cream. Before, during, and after, enjoy a passion fruit margarita, and finish your meal with churros!

Wednesday – A Bite and a Beer at Roy’s Bayside Grill and Dinner at Jacala

Another big breakfast at Cip’s meant we weren’t up for a full lunch, but we decided to make a few stops that day. We shopped for t-shirts at Irie Life, and stopped in at Limin’ Boutique to chat with our friends, Ken and Renee, picking up a few beautiful and unique gifts. We also stopped in at Roy’s Bayside Grill for some lobster cakes and a few beers.

Dinner at Jacala was extraordinary, prompting us to reserve a spot for lunch on Friday before we left. Read our full story on Jacala here.

Thursday – Lunch at Blanchards Beach Shack and Dinner at Tokyo Bay

By Thursday, we figured out that if we wanted to be hungry for lunch, we needed to eat lighter at breakfast, so after a light bite at Cip’s, we spent the morning on the beach, and in the water.

We then headed to Blanchards Beach Shack on Meads Bay. Blanchards Beach Shack quickly became a favorite on our last trip, and we knew we had to return. For our full story on Blanchards Beach Shack, read more here.

Late Thursday afternoon, we walked to the west end of Cap Juluca’s property to visit The Cap Shack, Belmond Cap Juluca’s beach bar. Our bartender makes a very fine rum punch, and we enjoyed the conversation. Stop by The Cap Shack as the sun sets for the pink skies and a few cocktails before dinner.

Dinner was at Tokyo Bay at the Cuisinart Resort. We had a taste for something a bit different, and enjoyed a variety of rolls including the spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, spicy yellow tail, and the lobster roll with spicy mango aioli.

Friday – Lunch at Jacala and Dinner at Mango’s

Knowing we were headed to Jacala for lunch, we showed incredible restraint at Cip’s. We enjoyed another incredible meal at Jacala, and you can read about the details here.

Dinner was at at Mango’s Seaside Grill. I enjoyed the Sesame Snapper Filet and a few of these. The rest is a bit blurry…

Saturday – Lunch at The Place and Dinner at Blanchards

Saturdays are the perfect day to enjoy some live music on Anguilla, and we found it at The Place, the restaurant at the Rendezvous Bay Hotel. For the full story on our lunch and tunes by the Musical Brothers, read our full story here.

Dinner was at Blanchards, and you can read more about our visit here.

Sunday – Lunch at Da Vida

Our week was winding down, and we knew we wanted to see Omari Banks. Omari plays on Sunday afternoons at Da Vida, and we spent our afternoon enjoying great music and wonderful food, which you can read about here. We may have overindulged a bit, because by the time dinnertime rolled around, we were still winding down from lunch. After a week of enjoying the Caribbean’s best food, it was time to rest!

Anguilla has so many marvelous restaurants, it’s impossible to make them all in one trip, so it’s time to get started planning trip number six!

We couldn’t even attempt to make it to all the wonderful restaurants in Anguilla in one week. For more of the spots we’ve enjoyed over the years, read more here…
