Let’s take a tour of Belmond Cap Juluca which opened just in time for festive season in December of 2018.
The star of the show is the beautiful stretch of sand along Maunday’s Bay. Each room is oceanfront with spectacular views.
The rooms are beautifully appointed with comfortable furnishings in soft tones. Small things like outlets and USB plugs inside the bedside drawers are a nice feature, particularly with every member of the family having their own electronics to store.
The bathrooms are spacious with a large shower and tub, both with a view of the ocean. Double sinks and a large vanity give you plenty of space to spread out.
The patios are appointed with a table and chairs and with comfortable loungers.
The resort entrance and gathering area are beautifully decorated with plush seating. We found ourselves lounging there before heading out for dinner on the island.
In the main house, you will find the Maunday’s Club, a nice place for cocktails or dinner, and you may just catch a set by Omalie 360.
Don’t miss the Manager’s “Champagne Sabering” each evening at 6 p.m., and try it yourself. Here is our daughter successfully opening a bottle of prosecco with a saber and some kind instruction.
Adjacent to the Maunday’s Club is the terrace with an infinity edge pool and loungers.
Breakfast is served every morning in Cip’s. A nice buffet is set out with a wide variety of juices, fruit, cereals, hot entrees and sides, and pastries. Adjacent is Pimm’s where you will find fine dining in the evening.
Your beach chair will be set up daily with a cooler filled with water bottles. If you’re up for a cocktail on the beach, you can press the little buzzer attached to your beach umbrella. And there are the beach treats, like mango sorbet in the afternoon.
Or if you’re up for a stroll, head down to the west end where you’ll find the Cap Shack. It was popular in the evenings, and offers live music on the weekends.
The spa is located next to Villa 22 on the west end. You could opt for a massage with gorgeous ocean views.
Getting around is easy, either by golf cart or bicycle.
Or you can head out on the water for a kayak or a sail.
