While enjoying the Caribbean Rum Tasting with Walter, we learned he would be teaching the Cocktail Master Class from the Cap Juluca Activities Guide, so sign us up! The class was conducted at the main bar at Cip’s and was so popular, that the bar was full by the time class started.

So let’s break out the cocktail shaker and get started!

We started out with a mojito, and by the end of class, there were five or six cocktails. At this point, it’s tough to recall, actually, but the end of the class it was tough to remember, but I had a few favorites. There was a delicious cucumber cocktail, which I expected to love. What I didn’t expect is that I would love the negroni, made with gin, Campari, and vermouth.

We ended the class with a cocktail of Walter’s creation. I can’t recall all the ingredients, and all the steps that went into it (there were quite a few), but you can see the sprig of thyme and the cinnamon stick? Walter lit the cinnamon stick and the smoky flavor and the thyme really came through. It was a lively class with all the couples at the bar, and I would not hesitate to join in again.
