Double Deuce is one of our favorite beach bars on Nevis, going back to our visits there in 2011. Since then, the bar moved location a bit, but it remains one of our favorites on the island.
First, the location. It’s still on Pinney’s Beach, but it’s closer to the Four Seasons than it used to be. Back in 2011, you walked past Sunshine’s, went around a curve in the beach and found Double Deuce. Now, Double Deuce is in the grouping of beach bars extending from the main road all the way to Sunshine’s. It’s no longer directly in front of the beach, back behind Turtle Time, but the beach is easily accessible for those who are spending the day. They’ve added a pool, a perfect place to relax!
The food is what I remember. The first time we dined there this trip, I ordered the Double Deuce Burger because last trip, we nearly missed out. When they’re gone, they’re gone. There is nothing better than a great cheeseburger when you’re in the islands. I love seafood, but you can’t beat a good burger. They are offering traditional fish and chips on Friday night as well, so it was tough to choose. Menu prices are Eastern Caribbean ($2.70 EC = $1 USD).
When we returned for lunch later in our trip, and after settling in with a Carib, we took a look at the lunch menu.
We had to go for the whole red snapper, stuffed with ginger, lime, green onion, and other seasonings. It took two of us to finish it, but it was worth the effort.
So if you’re on Nevis, take the time to try all the beach bars on Pinney’s Beach. The food is fantastic and you can’t beat the location!
